Not to deal in stereotypes, but middle-aged math-smart women typically are danged efficient at management. And Annise Parker, Houston's new dean, went to Rice University, geekiest college in the greater Southwest.
Wise move by Houston, I'd say. Houstonians prove they're practical, caring more about municipal leadership qualities and less that the mayor loves a consenting adult who happens to be the same gender.
