
Most days, the Games make me smile. They make me a tad ethnocentric too, as my grins come mostly from remembering America's glory--like the Miracle on Ice and Wilma Rudolph's triumph over polio and Jesse Owens kicking Nazi ass.
At some moment when the Olympics again enthrall the world, however, my mind sobers as it turns to Munich.
